Most parts of a wedding reception will be charged on the basis of the number of people who will be attending, so work out your invitation list in advance. This is also important in deciding which room to hire. Many venues will have a choice of rooms of different sizes, and this can also make a difference in how much money you will have to pay. One trick which you have to watch out for is the venue which will take your booking for a certain room, and charge the appropriate price, and then move you into a smaller one and hope you will not notice. This is so they can get two fees for the larger room. This does happen, so be on your guard and make sure you are placed in the correct room.

When the room has been booked and the catering organized, you can begin to think about the other important features of the reception. Do you want any musical accompaniment or entertainment? Do you want professional photographers or videographers to record parts of the reception for posterity? This is a day you need to be able to remember with fondness for the rest of your life, so take all of the care you can over your wedding reception planning.
